Solid Ground (WIP)

My most recent film, still a work in progress, takes a much more abstract approach than my other projects.

The Film consists of a woman trying to keep her glass island from collapsing. In doing this a glass creature wants to take parts of her and get bigger. It was an attempt to portray how I perceived my anxiety, in relation to how feeding it causes it to grow and become a more significant issue.

The film is primarily in CG 3D using Blender. However, there are moments of 2d used to show moments of violence

The Next Train

My second Film Consists of a man waiting for his train whilst a pigeon torments him. This film helped me learn the software blender better to give the illusion of 2d characters, in this case being the pigeon.

Catastrophize

This was definitely my most simple film premise. This was because I wanted it to be more of a showcase of animation rather than making you think. This is why it is a single camera angle, with no plot other than waiting for a train. As I've said I've been interested in character acting and dynamics between characters. Especially when it is non-verbal communication.

My first University film. Films that focus on portraying anxiety often have heavy or dark elements. I wanted to try and make a light-hearted representation by focusing on the overthinking and second-guessing aspect by personifying it into a person who throughout the production was given the unofficial title of "charcoal man".

The film consists of a man going through his day-to-day to get to work. Whilst he tried to get ready a charcoal mad tries to stop him every time he does something. The model-making and animation style is a nice reminder of how my methods have developed.
